Gusseted Poly Bags for Products with Depth

Gusseted poly bags use expandable folds to create room for bulky, boxed, stacked or irregular products. The gusset lets the bag open into a three-dimensional shape, improving fit when a flat bag would have to stretch around the sides of the contents.

Measure Width, Gusset and Length

A gusseted bag is selected from three dimensions. Match the width and expandable depth to the product's cross-section, then allow enough length to cover the product and complete the closure. The folds should open naturally; overstretching the gusset transfers stress to the seams and makes the opening harder to close.

Plan the Closure Before Ordering

Open-top gusseted bags may be heat sealed, tied, taped, folded or closed another way depending on the specific bag and application. The packed height and product depth consume material, so include enough extra length to make that closure without compressing the contents.
