VCI Stretch Film
VCI stretch film combines load-unitizing film with volatile corrosion inhibitor technology for documented metal-protection applications. The selection includes an 18-inch by 1,500-foot hand roll and a 20-inch by 4,500-foot machine roll, both blue and 100 gauge. Choose the application method first, then verify the exact metal and enclosure plan. The 18-inch hand film is packed four rolls per case for manual wrapping. The 20-inch machine film is packed one roll per case for a compatible stretch wrapper. Do not put the machine roll on equipment until its width, roll weight, core, unwind direction and film settings are confirmed. For hand application, control overlap and tension so the load is contained without crushing cartons or damaging parts. One hundred gauge describes film thickness, not a load rating, corrosion-protection period or puncture guarantee. Sharp metal edges may require guards or separate cushioning. Test the complete wrapped load through representative storage and handling, and document the approved revolutions, overlap and tension for repeatable application. VCI protection depends on the exact inhibitor chemistry, metal compatibility and enclosed environment. Parts should be clean and dry before wrapping. Confirm suitability for each metal or mixed-metal assembly, especially copper, brass, aluminum, galvanized surfaces and coated parts. Humidity, contamination, storage duration, distance from the film and openings in the enclosure can change results. Blue color identifies this film family but does not prove that a load was wrapped correctly. VCI film is also not automatically anti-static or static shielding. Use anti-static stretch film only when that separate property fits the ESD program. Review the exact technical data and revalidate whenever the metal, cleaner, environment, load pattern or planned storage period changes. The selection includes 18-inch by 1,500-foot hand film and 20-inch by 4,500-foot machine film. Both products are blue 100-gauge VCI stretch film. No. Confirm the exact inhibitor chemistry and documentation for each metal or mixed-metal assembly. Not automatically. Corrosion control, anti-static behavior and static shielding are separate functions.
