A 6 by 4.5 by 3-inch interior kit, for example, uses 1-inch foam and measures 8.5 by 7 by 5.875 inches outside. Other kits provide larger interiors and thicker walls, so two cartons with similar outside sizes can offer different usable space. Confirm dimension orientation and allow room for product, cold packs, separation layers, absorbent material and restraint.

The pre-assembled corrugated carton and matched foam components simplify component selection, but coolant is a separate design decision unless the exact product documentation states otherwise. Printed Rush, Perishable and This Side Up instructions appear on documented kits. Those messages increase visibility but do not guarantee carrier handling or replace required labels and routing instructions.

Set the payload starting temperature, coolant conditioning, number and position of packs, separation from freeze-sensitive goods, void treatment and closure sequence. The lid must seat fully without product or coolant interfering. Close the corrugated carton using the approved method and place labels where they remain visible after carrier documentation is applied.

EPS thickness is not a standalone temperature-duration rating. Performance depends on the full package, product mass, external exposure, route and season. Run representative testing and define arrival acceptance criteria before routine use. Requalify after changing the kit size, coolant, payload, carrier service or shipping lane. Reuse should occur only when all components remain clean, intact and suitable for the documented application.
