Tyvek® Envelopes for Lightweight, Durable Document Shipping

Tyvek® envelopes use spunbonded olefin material in flat and expandable self-seal styles, with selected colors and tamper-indicating constructions. The selection includes 14 lb. and 18 lb. material descriptions. Dimensions are stated externally, so usable capacity must account for product thickness, seams and expansion.

Choose Flat or Expandable Capacity

Flat envelopes suit documents and thin contents that remain within the seam profile. Expandable styles add depth for larger document stacks or compatible soft goods. Measure the complete pack and avoid forcing rigid corners or overfilling the expansion, which can concentrate stress at seams and the self-seal flap.

For products that need rigid bending and edge protection, compare flat mailers. Material durability does not replace a stiffener or corrugated enclosure when the contents cannot tolerate folding or impact.

Treat Security and Material Claims as Style-Specific

Match color to identification or presentation and confirm that labels and barcodes remain readable. Test the self-seal closure on clean material under expected storage conditions. The 14 lb. or 18 lb. description helps distinguish constructions but is not a universal package-weight or puncture rating.

Only products specifically identified and documented as tamper-evident should be used for that purpose, and the feature indicates possible opening rather than preventing access. Tyvek® construction should not be presented as waterproof, sterile, archival, recyclable or approved for regulated contents without exact product documentation.
