Ship-Lite® Reinforced Paper Envelopes

Ship-Lite® envelopes reinforce white paper with mesh-screen poly fibers for greater tear resistance than conventional paper envelopes while retaining a lightweight mailing format. Flat and expandable styles use self-seal closures and support different document, catalog, book and soft-goods thicknesses.

Flat and Expandable Styles Solve Different Capacity Problems

Flat Ship-Lite envelopes suit documents, thin publications and low-profile products that need tear-resistant paper packaging without expansion depth. Expandable envelopes open to accommodate thicker books, catalogs, manuals, folded soft goods or multi-piece packets without forcing a flat envelope beyond its intended capacity.

Expandable styles may open from the end or side. Match the opening to both the product orientation and packing-station workflow. Long-edge access can simplify loading broad items; end opening may work better for products inserted lengthwise.

Dimensions are outside measurements. Allow room for seams, expansion folds and product thickness, and keep the contents away from the self-seal area so the flap can close flat under firm pressure.

Reinforcement Improves Durability, Not Impact Protection

Product information describes Ship-Lite construction as six times stronger than paper envelopes. Treat that as a tear-resistance comparison for the specified product—not a universal puncture, burst or load rating for every shipping condition.

The reinforced material is moisture-resistant, not waterproof. Close the envelope correctly and evaluate the complete package if it may encounter rain, prolonged wet exposure or condensation. Ship-Lite envelopes also contain no built-in cushioning for impact-sensitive products.
