Use Mailers for Repeatable Pack Sizes
Preformed mailer sizes begin at 6 by 6.5 inches and extend through larger formats for different products. Confirm whether the stated dimensions provide the usable interior space needed after allowing for the 3/16-inch construction, closure area, coolant and any separation layers. A product that fits by length and width can still be too thick for a flat mailer to close properly.
The peel-and-seal strip supports efficient closure, but the seal should be tested with the actual packout and surface condition. Avoid overfilling, folding through the adhesive area or placing sharp products directly against the mailer. Add an outer shipping container when the route, product or carrier process requires more structure and surface area for labels.
Qualify the Complete Thermal System
The insulated construction slows heat transfer and provides light cushioning, but it does not actively cool, guarantee a temperature range or establish a transit duration. Define the payload range, starting condition, route, season, coolant mass and placement before use. Freeze-sensitive products may require separation from conditioned packs.
Product documentation identifies the mailers as water-repellent and puncture-resistant, but those descriptions do not make every finished shipment waterproof or puncture-proof. Closures, folds, sharp edges and handling damage remain possible exposure points. Test representative shipments and revalidate after changing the product, mailer size, coolant, carrier service or seasonal conditions.
