Printer's Boxes

Measure length and width after printing, folding, binding or collating, then include chipboard pads, interleaving, corner protection or moisture barriers used in the pack. Set depth from the actual stack height and allow enough clearance for loading without leaving excessive vertical movement. Printer-box dimensions are inside dimensions unless the product documentation states otherwise.

For shallow products that do not need a paper-oriented footprint, compare flat corrugated boxes. A close dimensional fit can reduce shifting, but printed materials may still need edge support and moisture protection based on value and distribution conditions.

Regular slotted cartons provide a familiar top-loading and taping process. Multi-depth cartons can be cut to a lower score for different stack heights, reducing empty space when several standard quantities share one footprint. Confirm the correct score before packing and keep cuts straight so the flaps close evenly.

Choose board strength from the complete packed weight, stacking environment and handling cycle—not from paper dimensions. White offers a clean presentation and label contrast; kraft suits general shipping. Neither color identifies strength, recycled content or moisture resistance. Validate the closed carton with the actual product before standardizing it.
