Static Shielding Bags for ESD-Sensitive Electronics

Static shielding bags use multilayer construction to provide a protective enclosure around electronic components that require shielding from electrostatic discharge. Open-end and reclosable formats support production packing, service parts and repeated access while keeping components visible.

Static Shielding Is Different from Anti-Static Film

Build the Bag into the Complete ESD Process

Start with the component's sensitivity and ESD-control plan. Compare shielding, surface resistance, charge-generation and any other required electrical data for the exact construction. Transparent appearance, printed symbols and film color help identification but do not prove performance.

Choose open-end bags when a heat seal or controlled closure belongs in the process. Choose reclosable bags for repeated access, provided the track is fully closed and the handling procedure preserves the required enclosure. Leave clearance around leads and sharp edges, and use compatible protective materials when puncture is possible.

Shielding packaging works alongside grounded workstations, personnel controls and proper storage; it does not replace them. Where military or defense qualification applies, verify listing status rather than assuming a commercial shielding bag is qualified.
