The adhesive may be paired with polypropylene or PVC backings, creating meaningful differences in stiffness, conformability, tear and dispensing behavior. Natural-rubber systems can be valuable on corrugated that is dusty, fibrous, coated or otherwise difficult to seal, but no adhesive can compensate for loose debris or poor application. Clean and dry the flap area when possible, center the strip and apply firm pressure along the full tape path. Choose width and strength around the packed load and flap tension. Overfilled boxes, sharp flap memory and heavy contents increase stress on the seal. Compare adhesion, shear and backing strength for the named product instead of relying on the natural-rubber label as a universal performance claim. Temperature capability, aging, ultraviolet resistance and residue can vary significantly by formulation and backing. Verify the data sheet when packages face long storage, cold rooms, hot trailers or sensitive printed surfaces. Test the finished carton under representative conditions before broad use. It is often selected for aggressive initial adhesion and demanding corrugated surfaces, subject to the exact grade. PVC is generally more conformable; BOPP is a common carton-sealing film. Their stretch, tear and dispensing behavior differ. Only if the exact product is documented for those application and service conditions.
