Nylon reinforced mailers embed heavy-duty fibers in kraft paper to improve tear resistance for products that need a durable, lightweight envelope without built-in cushioning. Standard, self-seal and gusseted formats support different closure and capacity requirements. Standard nylon reinforced mailers require tape or staples to close. They suit operations that already use a controlled sealing method or need to choose the closure separately. Make sure staples are appropriate for the contents and handling environment and cannot damage the product. Self-seal styles use natural-rubber adhesive designed to stick to itself when the end flap is folded over. Keep the sealing surfaces clean, load below the flap area and apply pressure across the complete seal. The adhesive is a closure feature, not a reason to overfill the mailer. Gusseted mailers expand for thicker documents, folded apparel, soft goods and other bulky contents. Select the gusset from the packed product depth and allow enough space for the mailer to close without placing continuous outward force on the seam. The nylon fibers help the paper resist tearing during normal shipping and handling. They do not create a rigid wall or absorb impact. Fragile products, sharp projections and heavy parts may need wrapping, edge protection or a different package. Dimensions are outside measurements. Account for seams, gusset folds and product thickness when determining fit. Avoid sharp corners pressing directly against the paper and keep enough clearance for the chosen closure. For a white reinforced-paper envelope with self-seal closure in flat and expandable styles, compare Ship-Lite® Envelopes. No. Standard styles require tape or staples; select a product specifically identified as self-seal when that closure is required. The natural-rubber adhesive seals to itself when the end flap is folded over and pressed firmly. Their expanding sides accommodate thicker document packets, folded apparel and other products that exceed flat-envelope capacity. No. They improve paper durability and tear resistance but contain no impact-cushioning layer.
