Central® Reinforced Water-Activated Tape for Defined Carton Specifications

Central-brand water-activated tapes are reinforced carton-closing products in kraft and white. Listed choices use 72 millimeter or 3-inch widths, 375- or 450-foot rolls and several mil designations. The product rows also carry specific recommended carton-weight ranges, which must remain tied to the exact tape selected.

Compare Grade Before Color

Kraft and white can support different carton appearances, but color does not establish grade. Compare width, roll length, listed mil and the carton recommendation shown for the individual product. Do not transfer a higher recommendation from one Central tape to another product that only shares the same width or color.

A carton-weight recommendation is a selection aid, not a guarantee. Board construction, box size, flap tension, closure length and distribution conditions also matter. Build a written packing specification around the chosen SKU, dispenser setting and representative packed carton rather than using brand alone as the specification.

Control Wetting and Application

Central water-activated tape needs even moisture from a compatible dispenser. Confirm the machine accepts the roll width and diameter, especially when changing between 375- and 450-foot rolls. Keep the water reservoir and brushes or wetting system clean according to the equipment instructions.

Apply the activated strip promptly to clean corrugated, centered over the major-flap seam. Press along the tape and onto both flaps without trapping folds. Test adhesion after the expected set time and through the actual handling route. The reinforced tape does not make a carton waterproof, indestructible or impossible to open.
