Wholesale Repair & Claim Tags

A claim tag can identify property received and connect it to an intake record. A repair tag can identify an item routed for evaluation or service. Define the required fields, who may create the tag and which written status is permitted at each step. Color should reinforce the process, not replace readable wording.

Listed sizes include 4 3/4 by 2 3/8 inches and 6 1/4 by 3 1/8 inches. Select enough space for the claim or work-order number, customer or asset identifier, date and handling notes required by the operation. Confirm the exact stock, color and attachment on the chosen product.

Record each issued number in the supporting claim or repair system and reconcile voided, damaged or unused tags. If multiple locations issue numbers, prevent overlapping ranges and define how an exception is investigated. Numbering supports traceability only when the physical tag and record are checked together.

Pre-strung and pre-wired formats can reduce preparation, while unattached tags permit an operation-specific fastener. Evaluate detachment, snagging, sharp wire ends and contact with the property. A claim tag does not establish liability or ownership, and a repair tag does not authorize work, certify completion or replace the work order.
