Foam Sheets for Consistent Layering and Interleaving

Pre-cut polyethylene foam sheets give packers a clean, repeatable layer for wrapping small products or separating stacked items. They reduce measuring and cutting at the bench while providing a lightweight, nonabrasive surface between products.

Use Sheets Where Consistency Saves Time

Foam sheets are especially useful for repeat-size products, kit assembly and layered packs. Place a sheet between plates, panels, frames, hardware or finished components to limit surface-to-surface contact. A sheet can also fold around a small item as a soft inner wrap before it goes into a carton or mailer.

Choose dimensions that cover the contact area without creating bulky folds. If a product requires complete enclosure, use multiple sheets, a pouch or roll stock sized for the full wrap. Keep sheets clean: grit trapped against a polished surface can cause the damage the foam is intended to prevent.

Know the Limits of a Thin Foam Layer

A thin sheet is primarily a surface separator with light cushioning. It should not be expected to immobilize a heavy item or absorb every shipping impact on its own. Combine it with suitable void fill, blocking, edge protection and an outer container matched to the product and distribution route.

Pre-cut sheets simplify material control when pack dimensions are stable. For products that vary widely, foam rolls offer more control over length and thickness. Standard polyethylene foam should not be assumed to provide ESD shielding, moisture-barrier performance or other specialty protection without supporting product data.

Frequently Asked Questions

When are sheets better than a roll?

Sheets speed repeat-size packing; rolls are more flexible when products and required lengths vary.

Can foam sheets separate stacked products?

Yes, provided the foam thickness and stack pressure are appropriate for the items.

Will one sheet provide enough shipping cushion?

Often not. Fragile or heavy products usually need a complete cushioning and blocking system.

Can I use foam sheets on polished surfaces?

Yes, when the foam and product surface are clean and the material is compatible with the finish.

Need Consistent Foam Interleaving?

We can help select sheet dimensions and build the foam layer into a complete protective pack.
