Gaylord Boxes for Palletized Bulk Storage and Shipping

Gaylord boxes are large corrugated containers used for compatible loose parts, components, materials and consolidated loads. The selection includes HSC-style bottoms, separate lids and telescoping components across single-, double- and triple-wall constructions. Build the package from compatible pieces and evaluate it with the pallet, product and handling system as one load.

Match Body, Lid and Telescoping Components

Confirm the usable body dimensions and exact pallet footprint before choosing height or wall construction. HSC bottoms provide open-top loading, while separate lids must match the body. Telescoping outers and inner components create overlapping systems for specified dimensions. Similar nominal sizes can require clearance differences and should not be assumed interchangeable.

When workers need a lowered access point in a deep container, compare easy-load containers. For an eight-sided body designed for specified bulky or heavy loads, review octagon bulk bins.

Engineer Around the Palletized Load

Evaluate product weight, bulk density, shifting and concentrated forces before filling. The pallet deck must support the base, and handling equipment must suit the footprint and completed height. Use liners, dividers, caps or internal supports when the product and distribution plan require them, and verify whether each piece is included or ordered separately.

Single-, double- and triple-wall descriptions distinguish constructions but do not establish universal weight or stacking limits. Moisture, storage time, pallet condition, load distribution and repeated handling can reduce performance. Test representative completed units and confirm carrier, facility, commodity and food-contact requirements independently of the Gaylord name.
