Matched Hot-Melt Glue Sticks and Applicators

A hot-melt system combines an applicator with a compatible adhesive stick. Packaging HERO offers industrial glue applicators and 1/2 × 15-inch glue sticks for selected packaging, assembly and repair tasks. Choose the equipment and adhesive together so dimensions, melt requirements, output and material needs remain aligned.

Match the Adhesive to the Work

Start with the two substrates and the required bead or dot. Stick formulation influences application behavior, open time, set and the finished bond. Amber, clear and light-amber products provide different starting points for general-purpose, packaging and more demanding compatible applications, but the exact materials still require testing.

Heat-sensitive films, foams, coatings and parts may deform before a useful bond forms. Trial the adhesive on production materials and evaluate bond quality after the complete service exposure. Hot melt should not be assumed to provide structural fastening, food-contact suitability or outdoor durability without exact supporting documentation.

Match the Applicator to the Stick and Pace

The glue applicators differ in wattage and control features, while the glue sticks share a 1/2-inch diameter and 15-inch length. Confirm that the chosen tool accepts the exact stick and temperature requirement. Wattage alone does not establish adhesive output or suitability for a formulation.

Plan warm-up, safe tool support, replenishment and shutdown. Heated adhesive and applicator components can burn operators or damage surfaces, so follow equipment instructions, electrical requirements and workplace safeguards. Keep the nozzle clean using the approved method and never force an incompatible stick through the feed mechanism.

Glue Sticks and Applicators FAQs

Are the glue sticks all the same size?

The available glue sticks are 1/2 inch in diameter by 15 inches long.

Can any stick go into any applicator?

No. Confirm diameter, formulation and temperature compatibility for the exact tool.

Does higher wattage always mean a better applicator?

No. Choose around compatible adhesive, required output, control and duty cycle.

Why test hot melt on production materials?

Heat sensitivity, surface finish and service conditions can change the bond and the part.
