Industrial double-sided film tape is listed in a white 3.5 mil construction on 60-yard rolls. Widths range from 1/4 inch through 2 inches, with selected widths available in two-roll packs or larger cases. Choose width around the bonded area, then validate both surfaces and the applied load. Quarter-inch tape supports narrow seams and small parts, while 1/2-, 3/4-, 1- and 2-inch rolls cover progressively more area. More width can increase contact area only when the whole strip is pressed onto compatible surfaces. Tape extending beyond the component can collect dirt or create an unintended exposed edge. The listed 3.5 mil thickness identifies the tape construction but does not establish load capacity. Cut length, bonded area, carrier, adhesive, liner removal and force direction all matter. Use small packs for process trials when available, then calculate case requirements from verified consumption rather than roll width alone. Remove dust, oil and moisture with a cleaning process safe for both materials. Apply the first side smoothly, then remove the release liner without stretching or contaminating the tape. Position the second surface carefully because repositioning can reduce useful contact or damage the assembly. Apply uniform pressure and observe any documented dwell before testing. Compare double-sided foam tape when the application requires a compressible carrier. Do not assume the film tape is removable, outdoor-rated or suitable for low-surface-energy plastics unless exact documentation and trials support those conditions. Listed widths are 1/4, 1/2, 3/4, 1 and 2 inches. The products use 60-yard rolls with a listed 3.5 mil construction. Several widths are offered in two-roll packs as well as larger cases. Not like foam. A thin carrier requires well-mated, compatible surfaces.
