Wholesale Inventory & Inspection Tags

Use only status wording that has a defined meaning in the organization. An Accepted or Inspected tag should identify the authorized person, date and supporting record required by the procedure. Rejected, Rework, Repairable and Scrap tags should make the next permitted action clear without relying on color alone.

The standard writing area is 4 3/4 by 2 3/8 inches, while larger products measure 6 1/4 by 3 1/8 inches. Select enough space for every required field. Compare 10- and 13-point stock from handling needs, but do not interpret point value as a weather or retention rating.

Selected two-part tags carry consecutive number ranges and allow one portion to travel with the item while the other supports the record. This helps traceability only when numbers are issued, recorded, reconciled and investigated under a controlled procedure. A missing or duplicated tag should trigger the defined exception process.

Choose string, wire or a separate fastener that remains attached without damaging the item or creating a hazard. A physical tag communicates status but does not itself perform an inspection, authorize release or prove regulatory compliance. Remove or void obsolete tags so conflicting statuses are not displayed together.
