Choose a Format That Fits the Product
Compact pre-strung tags provide a small writing area for price or item codes. One listed size is 3/4 by 1 3/32 inches, while another compact option measures 3/8 by 13/16 inch. Barbell shapes create separated ends for labeling small items, but fit and contact should be tested on delicate finishes.
Garment tags offer a larger display area, with selected products using perforation to create a detachable portion. Metal-rim tags add a framed circular format for compatible merchandise or display tasks. Confirm whether the exact product uses 10-point paper or 13-point cardstock rather than generalizing one stock across the family.
Plan the Information and Attachment
Leave enough room for readable price, SKU, size or other required information. Test handwriting, printing and applied labels on the exact surface, and verify that barcodes can be scanned at the finished size. Perforation supports a tear-off workflow only when the retained and removed portions are defined.
String color and tag color can aid presentation or sorting, but written identifiers should control inventory and price accuracy. Check that string, adhesive or another fastener does not scratch, stain, snag or detach during normal handling. A merchandise tag displays information; it does not guarantee price accuracy, ownership or inventory status without a maintained supporting system.
