Precut sheets are efficient for repetitive wrapping, layering dishes or parts, and crumpling consistent handfuls of void fill. Rolls suit benches that handle varied lengths, broad surface coverage or continuous interleaving. Choose a width that covers the contact area without requiring several narrow overlaps, then decide whether the operation benefits more from ready-to-use pieces or cut-to-length flexibility.

For surface protection, wrap or interleave before products can rub together. For void fill, crumple the paper to create resilient volume rather than laying it flat. Place material beneath, beside and above the item so it cannot easily reach a carton wall. Close the carton and apply a gentle movement check; add or reposition paper if the contents shift.

Newsprint works best for light products, minor abrasion control and modest empty space. It can compress or settle under dense items and is not a moisture, grease or puncture barrier. Fragile, heavy or high-value shipments may need stronger kraft paper, structured cushioning or corner protection in addition to a newsprint wrap.
