Machine-Grade Polypropylene Strapping by Core and Equipment Fit

Machine-grade polypropylene strapping is designed for compatible tabletop, semi-automatic and automatic equipment. Listed products include 1/4-, 3/8- and 1/2-inch widths, coil lengths from 6,600 to 18,000 feet, and 8 by 8 or 9 by 8-inch cores. Black, white and yellow options appear on specific machine formats.

Begin with the Machine Specification

Confirm the equipment model, approved strap width and thickness, core dimensions, feed direction and joint method before selecting a coil. The same 1/2-inch width is offered on different cores and in different lengths, so width alone cannot establish fit. An incorrect core may not mount or unwind correctly.

A representative black product measures 1/2 inch by 6,600 feet on a 9 by 8-inch core. Its embossed surface is documented for flexibility and heat-seal joint performance in compatible equipment. Do not apply those features to every machine coil without checking the exact product.

Set Up, Trial and Monitor the Cycle

Load the coil and set tension and sealing parameters according to the machine and strap instructions. Run test packages across the expected size and compression range. Inspect feed consistency, strap placement and joint quality before releasing production.

Strapping tension can crush cartons or damage exposed edges. Use edge protection where needed, keep guards in place and follow lockout procedures for jams or maintenance. Store coils clean and controlled so dust, moisture or edge damage does not affect feeding. Machine strapping is a securement component, not proof that a load is safe without validation.
