VCI Poly Bags

VCI performance depends on the metal type, inhibitor chemistry, enclosure quality, contamination, humidity, temperature and storage time. Confirm compatibility for ferrous, nonferrous or mixed-metal parts rather than assuming one VCI film protects every alloy.

Package parts clean and dry. Residues, fingerprints, process chemicals and moisture already on the surface can work against corrosion control. The bag should create an enclosure around the metal, with excess air and open pathways kept to a practical minimum.

Flat open-top bags suit parts that can be sealed after loading. Reclosable bags make inspection and repeated access easier, but the closure must be fully engaged each time. Gusseted bags expand around bulky components, equipment and liner applications; measure width, depth and height together.

Film gauge should account for weight, edges and handling so a puncture does not compromise the enclosure. For custom cut lengths, compare VCI Poly Tubing. Neither format replaces application testing or a corrosion-control plan for demanding storage.
