Removable Does Not Mean Universal Clean Removal
Adhesive behavior depends on the surface, dwell time, temperature and environment. A label that removes cleanly from a smooth reusable tote may behave differently on painted metal, paperboard, aged plastic or a textured surface.
If residue, surface finish or reuse matters, test the exact label on the actual surface for the expected amount of time before standardizing it across the facility.
Where Temporary Labels Fit Best
1. Use circles for quick status changes. A temporary fluorescent dot can flag a tote, bin, part or inspection condition without taking up much space.
2. Use white rectangles when employees need to write. Larger rectangles provide room for dates, part numbers, quantities or temporary instructions.
