Snap-Lock Security Loops for Lightweight Tagging and Control

Snap-lock security loops provide a compact one-time closure for compatible tags, samples, keys, merchandise and small parts. Their light nylon construction supports quick manual application where visible evidence of opening is useful, but the loop is not a lock or a substitute for a higher-strength security seal.

Match the Small Loop to the Item

Measure the complete route through the tag or attachment point and around the item. The current product uses a three-inch loop and lists 7.5-pound tensile strength, so it is intended for light-duty identification and closure rather than bundling heavy components.

Check that the loop passes through the smallest opening and that the locking head remains accessible for inspection. For conventional, reusable or higher-tensile formats, review cable and security ties.

Define What a Broken Loop Means

Snap the loop fully into the locking head and perform the approved pull check. If the loop supports a controlled item, document who applies it, when it is inspected and what happens when it is missing, cut or replaced.

A natural, unnumbered loop provides closure evidence but not unique chain-of-custody identification. Add a recorded tag or select a numbered seal when individual traceability is required.

Snap-Lock Security Loop FAQs

Are snap-lock loops reusable?

No. They are intended for one-time closure. Replace a removed or damaged loop.

Can they secure heavy bundles?

No. Choose a cable tie with suitable dimensions and listed tensile strength for heavier bundling.

Does the loop uniquely identify an item?

Not unless the selected product carries a unique identifier. Use a recorded tag or numbered seal when traceability is needed.

Does a closed loop prevent unauthorized access?

No. It can provide visible evidence that the closure changed and should be used within the applicable inspection process.
