Strapping Dispenser Carts Matched to Coil Construction

A strapping cart keeps a compatible coil controlled and mobile while operators secure packages. Available carts are designed for selected plastic coils, steel or plastic coils, ribbon-wound steel, or steel-only service. The strap material label is only a starting point because core size, coil width, winding style and capacity also matter.

Match the Cart to the Coil

The economy cart is documented for polypropylene or polyester coils with 8 by 8, 16 by 3 and 16 by 6-inch cores and holds one coil. Confirm the actual core dimensions before ordering because a plastic strap coil can use a different core from the last product purchased.

The specialty cart is designed only for ribbon-wound high-tensile steel strap. It can hold up to three 1 1/4-inch coils and uses lower roller supports for dispensing. That construction should not be assumed suitable for oscillated-wound steel or plastic strap.

Plan the Workstation Around Safe Dispensing

Also compare cart stability, handle placement, wheel path and tool-storage needs. Position the cart on a level surface where the strap can feed without crossing aisles or creating a trip hazard. Keep the coil restrained according to the cart instructions.

Inspect wheels, retainers and dispensing parts before use. Steel strapping has sharp edges and stored energy, while plastic strap can also recoil. Train operators to control the free end and use suitable protective equipment. A cart organizes and dispenses strap; it does not apply tension or complete the joint.
