Reclosable Anti-Static Poly Bags for Static-Sensitive Handling

The current reclosable anti-static assortment includes pink and selected clear bags in 2 and 4 mil film. These bags are intended to reduce static buildup around compatible electronic components and other static-sensitive items while providing a zipper-style reclosable package.

How to Choose

1. Identify the required ESD protection level. Anti-static film and static-shielding bags are not the same product class; use the exact protection needed by the component and handling process.

2. Choose 2 or 4 mil from the handling risk. Film thickness affects durability but does not define the electrical protection by itself.

3. Keep the closure usable. Leave space below the zipper track so the bag can close fully without product interference.

4. Use a controlled ESD process where required. The bag is one packaging component and should not replace grounding, handling, workstation, or shielding controls required by the application.

Anti-Static Bags vs. Static-Shielding Bags

Anti-static polyethylene is designed to reduce static buildup generated by contact and movement. Static-shielding bags are a separate specialty family intended for applications that require shielding performance around ESD-sensitive devices.

Do not choose between the two based on color alone. Use the component sensitivity, handling process, storage environment, and the exact product specifications to determine the appropriate package.
