Cable tie mounts create attachment points for routing wire, tubing and lightweight bundles across compatible surfaces. Selection depends on tie width, mount size, attachment method, substrate, environment and installed load—not the tie’s tensile strength alone. Verify the maximum tie width and thickness accepted by the mount. The available bases accommodate different cable-tie classes, so a mount intended for a standard tie may not accept a wide or jumbo tie. Position the base so the tie can be inserted and serviced after installation. Do not interpret a compatible tie’s tensile class as the mount’s safe load. The attachment and substrate may be the limiting point. Select compatible ties through cable and security ties. For adhesive-backed mounts, clean and dry the surface using a method compatible with both the substrate and adhesive. Texture, dust, oil, low-surface-energy plastic, temperature and moisture can reduce adhesion. Allow the specified dwell time before loading. Test representative installations and inspect them periodically, especially where vibration, heat or outdoor exposure is present.
