Hazmat Shipping Boxes for Specified Inner-Pack Configurations

Hazmat shipping boxes are corrugated outer components sized for specified paint cans, F-style cans and plastic jugs in defined pack counts. Their printed or documented performance marking applies only under its tested conditions. Choose the box by the exact inner package and authorized arrangement, then add every required protective and closing component.

Match the Box to the Inner-Pack Pattern

Identify the inner container style, capacity, outside dimensions and quantity before selecting an outer. Round paint cans, rectangular F-style cans and plastic jugs require different footprints and supports. Confirm whether the box is intended for one, two or four containers and whether foam, separators, absorbent material or other components are required.

For matched foam configurations, compare hazardous-material foam shipper kits. When replacing an outer in an established system, use the exact compatible box; a close dimensional match does not preserve the original testing or authorization.

Close and Document the Complete Package

Inspect the corrugated panels and manufacturer’s markings before use. Assemble the box squarely, load the exact inners and protective components in their intended orientation, and apply the specified closure method and tape pattern. Do not infer allowable contents or gross weight from board grade or suggested use alone.

Confirm the applicable UN marking, packaging instruction, packing group, quantity, compatibility and mode conditions for the exact shipment. Complete required markings, labels, documents, training and carrier procedures. The outer box is one part of the system; its marking does not transfer to substituted inners, foam, closures or another pack arrangement.

Hazmat Shipping Boxes FAQs

How do I choose a hazmat shipping box?

Match the exact inner-container style, capacity, quantity and authorized protective components.

Are foam inserts included with every box?

No. Verify the exact item and order every component required by the packaging instructions.

Can I use a box for a different inner container if it fits?

Not unless the applicable authorization specifically permits that complete configuration.

Does corrugated strength define the allowed contents?

No. Use the product marking, packaging documentation and current regulatory requirements.
