Furniture covers include 28-inch-wide gusseted formats with 17-inch depth and lengths from 64 inches upward for selected items. Mattress bags include wider formats, such as a 54 × 7 × 84-inch 1.1-mil bag. Use the exact width, depth and length to account for cushions, arms, frames, pillow tops and other projections.

The cover should slide into place without excessive force. Remove or pad sharp hardware that could puncture the film, and do not drag covered furniture by the bag. Clear material supports identification but does not prevent scuffs caused by movement inside the cover. Add separate cushioning where impact or abrasion protection is required.

Clean and dry the item before covering it. Trapped moisture, dirt or cleaning residue can affect surfaces during storage. Confirm compatibility with leather, finished wood, painted surfaces and other materials that may be sensitive to prolonged plastic contact, heat or humidity. Provide ventilation when the storage plan requires it.

Close or secure the open end using a method that will not damage the item, while avoiding trip or snag hazards. For palletized goods, review pallet covers and bin liners instead. Furniture and mattress covers are not cushioning, compression protection, waterproof enclosures or pest barriers. Keep unused and removed poly bags away from children and follow applicable warning requirements.
