4 Mil Poly Bags

Four mil flat bags have a finished bottom and are packed as individual bags. They support repeat packing when a stock width and length fit the product. The 2.8 mil roll-fed items are connected for dispensing at the workstation and are not the same gauge or pack configuration as the 4 mil flat bags.

Verify gauge, dimensions, style and case quantity for the chosen product. For roll-fed bags, check perforation handling and dispenser compatibility. For flat bags, check the open-end orientation and closure allowance. A roll-fed format can improve access at a repetitive station, but only if its size and thickness fit the product.

Four mil film is approximately 0.004 inch thick, while the listed roll-fed alternatives are 2.8 mil. Neither number is a universal capacity rating. Measure the packed product, protect sharp edges and trial the chosen bag for stretching, puncture, seam pressure and closure quality.

Compare 3 mil bags and tubing when that gauge fits the application, or review heavier gauges when actual testing requires more material. Do not assume standard clear polyethylene includes anti-static, VCI, food-contact or regulated barrier properties unless the exact product documentation supports the use.
