Measure width and length after adding any edge caps, inner wrapping or bundled components. Leave enough open material for the intended closure without forcing the product against the bottom or side seams. Larger bag sizes may be packed in lower case quantities, so confirm both dimensions and bags per case when estimating workstation supply.

Six mil means approximately 0.006 inch thick. Compare the application with 4 mil options when less film may be sufficient. The heavier gauge can add resistance to routine handling, but it does not make a poor fit or an exposed sharp edge safe.

Choose a compatible impulse sealer, tape or tie for the access and containment needed. Heat-sealing settings depend on the equipment, film and seal width. Keep the closure area free of product, oil and wrinkles, then inspect the finished seal for continuity without overheating the material.

Six mil film does not automatically make the package airtight, waterproof, anti-static, VCI-treated or approved for every food application. Those properties require exact documentation. Conduct representative packing and handling trials whenever weight, abrasion, protrusions or distribution conditions could stress the film or seams.
