Bulk EPS Foam Inserts for Compatible Can and Jug Shippers

Bulk foam inserts are expanded-polystyrene components shaped for specified paint cans, F-style cans and plastic-jug shipping systems. They are useful for replenishing compatible packaging or building an authorized production configuration, but an insert is not a universal cushion and does not carry regulatory authorization independently of the complete package.

Match the Insert to Every Mating Component

Identify the exact inner container type, capacity, body geometry and intended quantity per outer box. A quart paint can, gallon paint can, gallon F-style can and gallon plastic jug require different shaped cavities. Confirm top and bottom orientation, outer-carton dimensions and whether the configuration calls for one or multiple inserts.

For bundled systems containing matched components, compare foam shipper kits. Similar-looking white foam should not be substituted: density, molding, thickness and geometry can affect cushioning and the validity of a tested packaging configuration.

Use Replacement Foam Without Changing the System

Inspect each insert for cracks, crushed sections, contamination or missing pieces. Seat the inner container in the intended cavity without cutting or enlarging the foam unless the packaging instructions expressly allow it. Confirm that closures, caps, handles or fittings do not create unexpected pressure points and that the outer carton closes as specified.

For hazardous materials, match the insert to the exact authorized outer, inner and closure and follow current instructions. A replacement component does not transfer a UN marking to a different box or container. Classifying the material and completing packaging, marking, labeling, documentation, training and mode requirements remain the shipper’s responsibility.

Bulk Foam Inserts FAQs

Are bulk foam inserts complete shipping kits?

No. They are components that must be matched to the correct inner container, outer box and closure.

Can I trim an insert to fit another container?

Do not alter it unless the exact packaging instructions authorize that change.

Why does the container style matter?

Paint cans, F-style cans and plastic jugs have different geometries and require matching cavities.

Does an insert make an outer box UN rated?

No. Any authorization applies to a specific complete packaging configuration.
