Crimped Mailing Tubes

Measure the rolled item after adding paper, sleeves or other surface protection. Match the diameter to the finished roll and use the stated usable inside length for product fit. Leave enough clearance so the contents do not interfere with the formed end closures or create outward pressure during handling.

For tubes that use separate plastic closures, compare standard mailing tubes and matching caps. A crimped tube eliminates separate caps, but that benefit only applies when the formed ends provide suitable containment for the product and route.

Pinch and fold each end according to the tube design, keeping the creases even and the product clear of the closure area. Check that the ends remain closed when the tube is lifted, turned and handled. Add tape or another retention method when the contents, value or shipping conditions require additional control.

A crimped closure is not automatically tamper-evident, waterproof or secure for every load. Round tubes can roll on work surfaces and conveyors, and impact at a folded end can affect containment. Test the complete package, apply labels where they remain readable and verify carrier rules for round or irregular parcels.
