Hand-grade polypropylene strapping supports manual bundling and unitizing with a compatible tensioner and joint method. Listed coils include 7/16-, 1/2- and 5/8-inch widths, multiple thicknesses, and lengths from 5,400 to 10,500 feet. Black, white and yellow products are represented, with several core formats. A common listed format uses a 16 by 6-inch core, while a selected 8 by 8-inch core is also present. Core size affects the dispenser, and strap width and thickness affect the tensioner, sealer, seal or buckle. Confirm every component before replacing an existing coil with a similar-looking product. A representative black coil is 1/2 inch wide, 0.017 inch thick and 9,000 feet long on a 16 by 6-inch core. Other 1/2-inch coils use different thicknesses and lengths. Color or footage does not identify strength or tool compatibility. Thread the strap around the package or unit load, protect vulnerable corners and tension only to the validated level. Excess tension can crush corrugated boxes or deform products. Too little tension, an inefficient joint or a settling load can allow the strap to loosen during handling. Use tools and protective equipment according to their instructions. Keep hands and faces out of the strap path, control cut ends and release tension carefully. Compare machine-grade polypropylene when a strapping machine applies the material. Inspect the completed joint and strap position before the load moves, and never use hand-grade strap for lifting. Listed hand-grade products include 7/16, 1/2 and 5/8-inch widths. Many products use a 16 by 6-inch core; verify the selected coil. No. Width, thickness, core, tool and joint compatibility also matter. No. It is strapping for compatible bundling and unitizing applications.
