Bag numbers provide familiar size references, but the actual dimensions remain the reliable way to select. Products span compact #2 and #3 bags through larger #20 and #25 formats. Read the face width, side gusset and height together, then allow enough room to place the product without scraping or splitting the opening.

The side gussets expand for bulkier contents, but they do not correct a bag that is too narrow or too short. Test sharp corners, threaded parts and concentrated loads carefully. A small item can still stress the paper if its weight bears against one point. Add an inner wrap, carton or other protection when the item can cut or abrade the bag.

The listed 50- and 57-pound values describe paper basis weight. They are not universal limits for how much a finished bag can carry. Seams, dimensions, product shape, moisture and how the bag is lifted all affect performance. Establish a practical pack standard using the actual product rather than assigning capacity from basis weight alone.

Hardware bags do not include handles or a shipping closure. Fold, staple or otherwise close them only when the method is appropriate for the contents and customer process. Compare paper grocery bags for lighter general purchases. Keep kraft bags dry and confirm any food-contact, recycled-content or disposal claim on the exact SKU before communicating it.
