Corrugated Sheets for Pallets, Layers and Surface Protection

Corrugated sheets are flat fiberboard panels used to separate pallet layers, cover broad surfaces, line containers and add a sacrificial layer around compatible products. Options include kraft and white sheets in documented single-, double- and triple-wall constructions. Choose the footprint and board construction from the complete load and use, not from sheet dimensions alone.

Match the Sheet to the Job

Start by deciding whether the sheet will sit under a load, between layers, on top of a pallet or against a product surface. Measure the usable footprint and account for pallet overhang, carton alignment and any clearance needed for stretch film, strapping or edge protection. A sheet that is too small leaves unsupported areas, while excessive overhang can catch during handling.

For smaller pre-cut separators used inside cartons, compare corrugated layer pads. When moisture tolerance, cleaning or repeated use matters, review plastic corrugated sheets instead of assuming fiberboard will suit the environment.

Evaluate Construction With the Complete Load

Single-, double- and triple-wall descriptions identify different corrugated constructions, but they do not establish a universal capacity. Product weight, contact area, concentrated feet or corners, pallet deck gaps, humidity and storage time all affect performance. Use full support where possible and add localized protection when a narrow or sharp load could crush or puncture the sheet.

Test the packed pallet or package under representative handling and storage conditions. Confirm that the sheet stays flat, does not shift and does not interfere with pallet entry or load securement. Corrugated sheets can help distribute contact and protect surfaces, but they do not independently make a load stable, weatherproof, food-contact suitable or safe for a particular stack height.

Corrugated Sheets FAQs

How should I size a corrugated sheet for a pallet?

Match the usable load footprint while avoiding unsupported gaps and excessive overhang.

Is double-wall always the best choice?

No. Choose construction from the load, support, exposure, handling and required stiffness.

Can a corrugated sheet replace a pallet?

No. It is a sheet component and requires support appropriate to the complete load.

Can corrugated sheets be reused?

Reuse depends on crushing, moisture, contamination, punctures and the demands of the next application.
