Air-Cushioned Mailers With Paper or Poly Exteriors

Cushioned mailers combine a flexible paper or poly exterior with an internal air-cell layer. Exterior material, cushioning thickness, closure style and usable capacity affect how the package performs in fulfillment and parcel handling. Choose the complete construction from the product's shape, fragility, exposure and presentation needs.

Match Exterior and Cushioning to Different Risks

A paper exterior provides a familiar writing and labeling surface, while a poly exterior can suit applications where a flexible plastic outer layer is preferred. The internal cushioning layer helps manage contact and routine impacts, but neither exterior creates rigid bending or crush protection.

Choose cushioning thickness from product sensitivity and available space. Compare poly cushioned mailers for a white poly exterior, or paper padded mailers when fiber or paper-based cushioning is the better material choice.

Size From Outside Dimensions and Finish the Seal

Displayed dimensions are outside measurements. Measure length, width and thickness after adding inner protection, and leave clearance around rigid corners. Select self-seal, self-seal with tear strip or heat-seal products according to the exact packing process rather than treating the closure names as interchangeable.

Keep closure surfaces clean and free of product pressure. A sealed cushioned mailer is not automatically tamper-evident or waterproof. Use rigid packaging for items that cannot tolerate flexing, compression or puncture, and test representative packs through the expected distribution conditions.
